Our Stakeholders say …
Nigel Best, New Anglia Growth Hub Manager
“One in five businesses have fallen victim to cyber-attacks in the past year, according to a recent British Chambers of Commerce survey. These attacks threaten the growth of our local economy and our personal well-being. The New Anglia Growth Hub supports the Norfolk Cyber Security Cluster in its aim to help businesses bolster their cyber security and prevent criminal activity.”
Simone Robinson, Head of Regional Relationships – East of England, Institute of Directors, 116 Pall Mall, London, SW1Y 5ED
“Cyber Security is a top concern for our members who represent leading businesses across the East of England. We support the Norfolk Cyber Security Cluster initiative and hope that our members can participate in the activities of the cluster in Norfolk and beyond.”
Norwich Research Park
Cyber security is now firmly at the top of the international agenda as high-profile breaches raise fears that hack attacks and other security failures could endanger the global economy.
As with other large organizations, Norwich Research Park is reliant on the smooth running of IT networks. We are taking measures to protect our IT networks and data from security breaches in order to ensure business continuity, protect against reputational damage and avoid the cost implications arising from any cyber security failure.
Paul Maskall, Cyber Security Advisor, Norfolk & Suffolk Constabularies
“ With the fluctuating demands of protecting your information and business, it will be great to build a community of both the public and private sector to share ideas and build a strong cyber security foundation for our county”
Geoff Connell, Head of IMT Information Management & Technology, Finance, Norfolk County Council
“Cyber security is one of the most urgent issues of the day. Computer networks have always been the target of criminals, and it is likely that the danger of cyber security breaches will only increase in the future as these networks expand, but there are sensible precautions that organizations can take to minimize losses from those who seek to do harm.
We support the Norfolk Cyber Security Cluster in its aim of disseminating information and providing education channels that will help Norfolk businesses become more secure and less vulnerable to the persistent threats of the current connected business world.”
University of East Anglia
“Cyber security is an important issue for UEA and we, like many other organisations, are increasingly subject to cyber security threats. We wholeheartedly support the Norfolk Cyber Security Cluster in its endeavour to build cyber security knowledge, skills and capabilities across the county. This network offers a positive mechanism to enable UEA students and staff to engage with like-minded individuals and organisations in addressing the challenges presented across the cyber security agenda.”
Jonathan Clemo, Chief Executive, Community Action Norfolk
“Cyber security is an important area for VCSE organisations both in terms of safeguarding themselves and the often sensitive client data they hold but also in ensuring the vulnerable people they exist to support do not fall victim to cyber crimes. Community Action Norfolk welcomes the cyber security cluster as a means to improve our resilience as well as enhance our area’s growing digital economy.”
